Below is a list and description of the various services we have to offer.
Funeral Services

Arranging funeral services after a loss can be a difficult task for anyone. It is our goal to anticipate your needs through this time of transition. It is important to the staff of Community Funeral Home of Tyler that we personalize your experience with us. We will assist your family in planning a funeral and choosing the options that suit your family’s needs and your loved ones wishes. We can assist you in holding services in a wide variety of areas. From our chapel to your church or at the cemetery we can prepare a meaningful service to honor your loved one. We will listen to your family and help to arrange a celebration of your loved one’s life through whatever means you choose, within your budget.

You can have your service anywhere, and any way, you want. Your choices include the place of celebration, day of the week, and time of day; the musical selection, prayers prayed or songs you would like sung. We are here to help you create the most memorable and meaningful service to honor your loved one.

What if someone dies away from home?

Dealing with the passing of a loved one is stressful enough but when you must arrange services for a loved one who passes in another city can be especially difficult.

Community Funeral Home of Tyler can handle the details of making sure your loved one is transported to wherever they need to go. When a death away from home occurs, we arrange transportation from the hospital or funeral home in the other city, complete all documents and paperwork, and plan for airline services as well.

Trust the staff of Community Funeral Home of Tyler to take care of you.

Burial or Cremation?

You may choose between burial or cremation. Sometimes this decision can be a difficult one.  Some people know exactly what they want because their loved one has made it clear and to the point of their desire. But for some it can be a hard decision, especially when wishes were never stated, or finances are playing a part. Our staff is here and able to assist you to come to the perfect decision for you and your family.

If you decide on burial, then it is time to select the casket of choice.  If cremation is your choice, then you’ll need to select your urn of choice.

Pre-Planning

Why plan ahead?

  • Peace of Mind – Instead of the emotional strain of having to plan a funeral in a few hours, you have the choice to pre-plan your own funeral. By doing so, it lifts the burden from your family/loved ones. They don’t have the pressure of spur of the moment decision-making during a time of emotional stress and grief.
  • Lower Cost – By planning ahead, you know the costs and you can set aside funds to pay for your service. This can lock-in your funeral prices and protect you from escalating funeral costs of the future.
  •  Personal Wishes – Your funeral choices are your personal choice. By pre-planning you can ex-press your personal wishes that you would like carried out. Pre-planning provides you with the necessary time to make detailed decisions that match your wishes and budget.

PRE-PLANNING DOES NOT MEAN PRE-PAYMENT

There are many advantages to planning a funeral. By pre-planning a funeral, difficult decisions will not have to be made during a time of grieving and stress. You will be able to visit a potential resting site and have time to decide on and compare options. Your wishes can be put into writing to give your family direction when the need arises. Our staff can help you plan so that your family can carry out yourwishes.

You can protect you and your family from inflation. Set up a pre-payment plan that fits your budget.

Veteran's Benefits

Those who have served our country deserve to be honored with dignity. We believe in paying proper respect to military service members and veterans. We are committed to offering burial and memorial services that respect, honor and give true meaning to those families who are mourning the grief of their loved one.

Ask us about the honors that your loved ones may be eligible for. We will help you secure your potential veterans’ benefits, such as burial flags, government markers, memorial certificate and a burial plot.

Social Security Help

We will notify the Social Security Administration of the death. We will explain and help you apply for any benefits you may be entitled to through Social Security.

Death Certificates

We will help you in obtaining a death certificate which can be important for insurance purposes as well a host of other issues. Please ensure you have accurate information when you are planning funeral services so that death certificates can be accurately filed with the state.

Obituaries

We prepare obituaries for the newspaper to announce the passing of your loved one. You can take advantage of the free obituary or upgrade to one with your loved one’s picture and other information.

We also have resources to provide you with programs for your funeral service that range from the standard programs to a booklet.

Online Memorials

We can set up an online memorial for your loved one. Our online memorials provide information for guests about the funeral services and provide a tribute to your loved one. Guests will be able to gain information about dates, times and locations of funeral services. Guests will also be able to order flowers, make donations and sign a guest book through the memorial. The family will have access to the memorial to add photos to create a photo gallery for their loved one. By providing information to guests about services, our online memorials help lessen the load on a family during a difficult time. The memorials also serve to pay tribute to your family's loved one.

You can also find information about your loved ones’ services on our Facebook page.

After-Care

Sometimes the loss of a loved one can be especially painful. We understand that the grieving process does not end with the funeral. We are here not only to help arrange the funeral, but to help families cope with the loss of their loved one. There are a wide variety of grief resources available, and we will help to point you in the right direction and begin the healing process.

Please visit our Resources tab that has numerous resources for spouses, parents, children, etc. to aid in the grieving processes. If you need other more personal resources, please contact us directly and we will attempt to find the necessary resource for your need.

Fee for Services

To better serve you, it is our policy that all services selected be paid in full at least 24 hours prior to the funeral service. We accept all verifiable (i.e., policy amount and name of beneficiary) and assignable insurance as payment for funeral expenses.

You may choose only those items you desire. If you are charged for items you did not specifically request, we will explain the reason for the charges on the written memorandum. Please note that there may be charges for items such as cemetery fees, flowers and newspaper notices.

Please click 'Payment Options' tab for more information on payment options.
